Guidance for creating passwords

In order to create secure passwords you should follow these guidelines:

• Never use passwords that are easily guessed (like names of members of your family, pets) by those who know you.
• Never use your own name or User ID as a password.
• Never reuse the same password you have used previously.
• Never use passwords containing complete English or foreign words.
• Never tell anyone your password.
• Never post your password in obvious places.
• Never embed your password in any automated logon procedure.
• Never share your account with someone else.
• We recommend that you change you password regularly.
• Always use a password that contains a combination of numbers and letters.
• Always make your password six characters in length or more.
